Retaining Wall, Caquetá Colombia
Rammed Earth Retaining Wall Designed to protect and prevent permanent roadway loss in Colombia's Amazon region.
This extraordinary Rammed Earth Structure and foundation were thoughtfully constructed within the unique Amazonian rainforest environment. Today, this retaining wall safeguards the community from soil spills and prevents roadway erosion despite the difficult geological conditions.
Our technology and methodology cut foreign material use by 95%. The stabilized local clay, silt, and sand eliminated canoe transport issues. In three weeks of rain, 35 meters of wall were built, reducing costs by over 50%.
